I consider
Subject to anything
that may transpire at tomorrow's Meeting, the case one for suspension (i.e. dismissal if Secretary of State confirms).
(P) G. J. M. OBrien.
5th Dec 1893.
His Excellency Major-General, Commanding,
the
Police services in
His last 7 years.
Police does not seem to render
him eligible for a police pension as he had already obtained a commuted pension for his first ten years.
His 14 years' service in the Hospital scenes clearly form no reward in the shape of a pension even if his total unpensioned service and his age render him eligible under the new conditions which seem doubtful.
In view, however, of his previous 17 years' good conduct I would allow him to resign at once and without pension) and failing his availing himself of that permission I recommend dismissal.
